When You Should Start Bichon Frise Training
Of all the dog breeds you can choose from, the Bichon Frise can definitely be considered as one of the very best. They are very loving and adorable dogs, which make great family pets if properly trained. As with any other dog, it is important that you make yourself more educated on a breed before choosing them, so that you are aware of their needs and be able to decide whether or not you are going to be able to handle it.
Bichon Frise training, for instance, is often more time consuming and difficult than training with other dogs. This is because the Bichon Frise dogs tend to be quite stubborn and very dominant as well. As long as you start when they are young you should not have too many problems, and there are always great tips and tricks that you can use to help you.
One of the most major aspects relating to Bichon Frise training is barking. It can often be hard to train them not to bark, but it can be done. Keep in mind that this is a breed that is often quick to sound the alarm at every new sight and sound. Although this can often be a good thing, especially at night because they make great watchdogs and will alert you if there are any intruders, it can obviously also become a problem as well.
Separation is another important issue when it comes to Bichon Frise training. They are attention seeking dogs, and actually do not like to be left alone for more than a few hours at a time. They will definitely let you know when you are not spending enough time with them, usually by constant barking and destructive chewing. Obviously then if you are someone who is usually out all day, this is not going to be the best breed for you to choose as a pet.
Bichon Frise paper training can definitely be trying, but the results can be great as long as you are able and willing to put the required time and effort into the process. Training your dog to go in the same place, by paper training, is a good way to housebreak your Bichon Frise. Slowly move the paper toward and then out of the door after your dog becomes successful at using the paper every time.
If you do decide to do the Bichon Frise training yourself, there are a couple of things in particular that you want to make sure to keep in mind throughout the process. One is to be repetitive, because this is the only way that you are going to be able to teach your Bichon Frise anything. You also need to make sure that you are stern and consistent, but without being mean. Getting angry at your dog is never going to solve anything and is only going to get them and you discouraged.
Bichon Frise training does not have to be incredibly difficult, and you just have to have patience. If you ever need help here, remember that there are many Dog training books out there that you can use to help yourself out.
